Abstract Submission & Guidelines
Call for Submission of Abstracts for Presentation at OCCUCON 2019The abstract must be written and presented in English
All persons desirous of presenting papers must have registered for the conference.
Abstracts must contain original data and should meet international ethical standards
A maximum of two abstracts may be submitted by the same presenting author
An abstract cannot be submitted to more than one thematic category
Previously published and presented abstracts cannot be submitted.
The abstract title must have the first letter of each word capitalized.
Tables and graphs should not be included in the abstract.
References (maximum of 2) can be included in the body of the text.
Standard abbreviations may be employed in the text. Place special or unusual abbreviations in parentheses after the full wording at the first time in the body of the text.
Non-proprietary (generic) names of drugs, written in lower case, are required at the first mention of a drug. Trade names are not allowed
These abstracts must present information that is significant to clinical, translational or basic science, uses appropriate study design, analytical methods and statistical methods and is clearly and logically written.
It is the author's responsibility to submit a correctly edited and accurate abstract. Abstracts will be rejected if they contain no data or if the English is unacceptable. All submitted abstracts and presented material are properly cleared for public release.
The authors may indicate a preference for oral or poster presentation, however the final format decision rests with the Scientific Committee.
Abstracts reporting original studies should be structured to include Title, Authors & co-authors with designation & institution name, Keywords, Introduction, Materials & Methodology, Results, Conclusion and References sections. Please see Annexure A.
Use a maximum of 400 words (excluding title, authors' name, keywords & references). It should be typed in double spaced A4 sized page and text should be typed in Times Roman (font size 12) in word format.
It is inadequate to state "The results will be discussed" or "The data will be presented."
The first author of the abstract is normally the presenting author, and he/she bears responsibility for the content of the abstract and presentation. If a presentation is to be given by someone other than the first author, the Scientific Committee Chairman must be notified and permission sought.
Scientific Committee OCCUCON 2019 invites you to submit high quality abstract on latest research and evaluation in occupational health, work life balance, policy developments and interesting clinical cases at its annual Conference from 9th Jan to 12th Jan 2019 at Rajkot. We encourage work that introduces new ideas and concepts, research and understandings to Occupational Health field, as well as analysis of both successes and failures. Authors can apply either for oral paper presentation or for poster presentation, however the final format decision rests with the Scientific Committee, OCCUCON 2019. Only accepted abstracts will be presented.
About Conference Theme and Subthemes
Theme of Conference –
"Achieving Vision Zero through Basic Occupational Health Services (BOHS)"
The theme of the conference focuses on achievement of VISION ZERO goal meaning prevention & control of occupational illnesses, accidents and injuries at workplace especially in the informal sector in India. This campaign aims to integrate occupational health and safety with wellbeing so that employers may have motivated workforce. Our aim is to engage allied organizations nationwide in a campaign which augment knowledge & capacity of Primary Health Care Providers through Basic Occupational Health Services. This will helps to cut down on occupational accidents and diseases by investing in a healthy and motivated workforce.
This Conference would incorporate multiple sub themes including but not limited to:
Basic occupational health services, Agriculture Health and Safety, Occupational Diseases and Human Health, Occupational Hazards, Current issues in Occupational Health and Safety, Human factors and Ergonomics, Occupational Psychology, Mental Well-being at Workplace, Integrated approach to Occupational Health and Hygiene, Integration of Occupational Health and workplace Wellness & life style management programs, Medicine and Toxicology, Accident prevention, Indoor Air Quality, Education and training in OH and Health CSR
Abstract Submission & Deadline
Abstracts can be submitted electronically through web page of OCCUCON 2019 by providing all necessary details and certification. Acknowledgement of the receipt of abstract submission will be sent to the presenting author's e-mail address immediately upon submission. Changes to abstracts are accepted only until the submission deadline by using the abstract submission website. Last date for abstract submission is 30th November 2018.
Types of Presentations
a) Poster Presentation
Poster presentations should be in the standard size of 4 feet (Height) X 3 feet (Width). Poster should be in English. Charts, Drawings and Illustration must have self-explanatory notes. Font size should be readable from 1.5 meters distance. Author should remain present at the poster site for discussion for his/her work at the scheduled time for exhibition at the conference.
b) Oral Presentation
Time for oral presentation of each Scientific Paper will be restricted to 8 minutes, with additional 2 minutes for Q&As.

Notification of Acceptance
Notification of acceptance/rejection will be emailed by the end of November 2018. The presenting author will receive all correspondence regarding the abstract status, presentation type, presentation guidelines. Presentation date and time will be provided on their email by December 2018.
Abstracts should not include libelous or defamatory content. Material presented in abstracts should not violate any copyright laws. If figures/graphics/images have been taken from sources not copyrighted by the author, it is the author's sole responsibility to secure the rights from the copyright holder in writing to reproduce those figures/graphics/images for both worldwide print and web publication. All reproduction costs charged by the copyright holder must be borne by the author.
Conflict-of Interest and Certification.
The highest standard of ethics must be employed in the conduct and reporting of studies to be presented at the Conference. There must be no commercial promotion of products or procedures. Authors are required to declare all non-governmental or non-academic support or funding (for example, business or commercial support) for the work upon which the presentation is based. Certificate by principal author is to be acknowledged as given in Appendix 'B' during abstract submission in web page of OCCUCON 2019.
An abstract which has been previously published or presented at a national, regional or international meeting can only be submitted provided that there are new methods, findings, updated information or other valid reasons for submitting.
If preliminary or partial data have been published or presented previously, the submitting author will be required to provide details of the publication or presentation, along with a justification of why the abstract merits consideration for OCCUCON 2019. This information will be considered by the Scientific Committee when making final decisions.
If the author neglects to provide these required details and justification, or if evidence of previous publication or presentation is found, the abstract will be rejected.
Selection Criteria & Full Paper Submission
The abstracts will be accepted as oral papers/ poster paper depending on its merits. The decision of the scientific committee will be final in deciding merit and mode of presentation. There would be no appeal on the decision of the scientific committee. If selected, full paper will be submitted to the scientific committee along with brief biodata of presenter by 15th Dec 2018.
Registration and Payment
The presenting author must register for the Conference and pay the registration fee before 15th Dec 2018. Abstracts will be automatically withdrawn if the presenting author is not registered.
Abstract presenters are responsible for arranging and paying for their own registration, travel and hotel arrangements
